History of Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple
Shri Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, also known as Aundha Nagnath Jyotirlinga, is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva mentioned in sacred Hindu scriptures it is also Considered the 8th Jyotirlinga among the twelve sacred shrines of Shiva. Later, it was renovated in the 12th century by King Seuna (Yadava dynasty) rulers in the Hemadpanti style of architecture. For hundreds of years, the temple has been a center of faith and learning, where many saints and devotees came to worship. It is also connected with the Bhakti movement, as the great saint Sant Namdev is said to have spent part of his life here in prayer and devotion.
